For the month of February, the amazing charity that has been nominated and selected to receive the #harrishelps support is Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland.
The main focus of this wonderful cause is to train and place highly skilled autism assistance dogs. These dogs are more than just a pet, they are trained to the highest standards to provide safety to children in public places. They provide a lifeline and enable children to go out and about safely and reduce anxiety not just for the child but for the family as well.
These dogs are trained from 8 weeks of age and it can take up to 2 years for them to reach the standard of training required!
As well as training their amazing dogs and puppies, they are also committed to raising awareness of autism. They offer talks to schools throughout Ireland, host workshops and attend large events to meet with the public and help educate society.
We have a huge respect for all the hard work and care the volunteers at AADI put into educating the public and training these wonderful dogs, which truly change the lives of those who have them.
