FiXX Coffee Eyes Growth as it Celebrates 20 Years in Business

FiXX Coffee, a pioneer in Ireland’s coffee industry, is celebrating 20 years in business this year. Founded in 2004 by Anne Abberton, FiXX Coffee is the first and only female owned coffee business in Ireland and has just hit 1 million kilograms in sales of its award-winning, ethically sourced coffee. As FiXX Coffee looks to the future, it is strategically focused on growth through servicing and expanding its wholesale trade, growing revenue, and exploring export opportunities through Local Enterprise Programmes.

The brand has become synonymous with high-quality, ethically sourced coffee, catering to both trade customers and direct consumers through its eCommerce site, offering direct-to-consumer hassle free subscription packages and home delivery. The company aims to grow its revenue by 50% and expand its workforce by 25% over the next five years, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.

Over the past two decades, FiXX Coffee has built a reputation for delivering award-winning coffee, having received numerous Great Taste Awards and the prestigious All-Ireland Business All-Star accreditation. Entering the coffee business initially as a coffee importer and distributor by setting up her own business in 2004, Anne has since delved into many aspects of the industry. Importing, distribution, wholesale supply, cafe operation, running mobile coffee units, and establishing a successful online store.

Since its inception, FiXX Coffee has sold over 1,000,000 kilograms of coffee, equivalent to 58 million 8oz cups, which is enough to fill over 5 Olympic-sized swimming pools. This success has solid foundations created long before the recent boom in the Irish coffee scene, showcasing FiXX Coffee’s enduring quality and appeal.

Anne Abberton, Founder of FiXX Coffee comments: “Reaching this milestone is a testament to our commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction at FiXX Coffee. Our journey began over 20 years ago with a desire to bring global coffee cultures to Ireland, and today we continue to connect people through our unpretentious, down-to-earth approach to coffee.”

FiXX Coffee’s dedication to ethical sourcing is a cornerstone of its business model. The company imports UTZ certified coffee, ensuring sustainable farming practices and better opportunities for farmers across the globe, from Cuba and Guatemala to Peru and Ethiopia. This commitment to sustainability not only protects the environment but also ensures a consistent supply of premium coffee for FiXX’s customers, including cafes, fine food stores and offices.

The company’s success is driven by a dedicated team of five full-time and one part-time employees based in Dublin, supported by long-term outsourcing partnerships for logistics, deliveries, and coffee machine services.

FiXX Coffee chooses to work with independently owned businesses in Ireland, avoiding international supermarket and cafe chains. They prioritise alignment in ethos, mission, and goals with their partners, ensuring healthy, sustainable growth over rapid expansion.
