Puppies from across Ireland were invited to compete for the prestigious title of Petmania’s Puppy of the Year 2025, a heartwarming nationwide celebration of the country’s much-loved pets. The campaign culminated in a live grand finale and winner announcement at Dublin’s Pet Expo on 18th October, with Harris PR assisting in raising national awareness of the competition and driving entries.
Marking its 10th year, the milestone edition celebrated a decade of puppy love across Ireland. Through a strategic PR and media campaign led by Harris PR, awareness of the anniversary year was amplified across print, online and social platforms. Entries were open from 25th August to 14th September, with puppies aged up to 12 months from all 26 counties eligible to enter. Kevin, a four-month-old Irish Wolfhound from Galway City, took home the coveted title at the tail-wagging final.
A recent Pet Survey carried out by Petmania showed that 81% of Irish households owned a dog, highlighting the nation’s deep affection for its four-legged companions. As pets continued to be regarded as integral members of the family, Puppy of the Year offered a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the puppies at the heart of Irish homes, a message that was central to Harris PR’s storytelling throughout the campaign.
