Activ8 Solar Energies and Tayto Snacks partnered on a landmark rooftop solar project at Tayto’s production facility in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, representing Tayto’s largest renewable energy investment to date.
The €1.17 million installation now supplies approximately 10% of the factory’s annual electricity demand and is expected to generate around 667 MWh of clean energy each year.
Key project highlights included:
- Installation of 1,734 rooftop solar panels at the Ashbourne facility
- Estimated annual carbon reduction of 146.17 tonnes of CO₂
- Use of Activ8’s ATLAS Duo N-Type bifacial solar panels designed for Irish weather conditions
- Support from SEAI through the Non-Domestic Microgeneration Grant (NDMG) scheme
- A wider focus on energy resilience, sustainability and onsite generation for Irish manufacturers
The announcement positioned both Activ8 Solar Energies and Tayto as leaders in sustainable manufacturing and renewable energy adoption in Ireland.
