For Childhood Cancer Ireland’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month campaign, Harris PR helped shine a light on the emotional and psychological impact of childhood cancer that can continue long after treatment ends.
At the heart of the campaign was ‘Things We Still Carry’, a striking installation at Dundrum Town Centre featuring a school bag filled with familiar objects representing the less visible realities children and families can continue to carry – from missed school days and hospital appointments to anxiety, uncertainty and isolation.
Harris PR supported the campaign from concept through to activation, coordinating the installation at Dundrum Town Centre, ambassador negotiations, case study and spokesperson interviews, and targeted media relations to bring the story to life.
We secured opportunities for Childhood Cancer Ireland’s spokespeople and families to share their experiences, while working with ambassador Michelle Regazzoli Stone to help amplify the campaign and reach new audiences.
The campaign provided a strong visual hook for media while creating a public-facing moment to challenge the perception that a child’s cancer journey ends when treatment does.
What if the hardest things a child carries can’t be seen?
